It started with millions of people sending in a video of themselves to the network. They are reviewed and top contestants are invited to live together in a house. Each week they are given a camera challenge to begin the show. For example, they have to make a dish that has a personal meaning to them and then explain it to the judges while beng taped. There are usually three judges from the food industry or other stars from the Food Network. They judge the person’s ease of being on camera and how well the dish tastes. The winner gets an advantage in the next round like picking out the main ingredient in their next dish. The next round is more difficult and sometimes they have to work with someone else. One time, two chefs had to run a road side cart and had to combine their skills to create unique plates. The top performers are safe while the bottom three are faced with elimination. You really learn about different kinds of food and get to root for the peson you want to win. The recipes can also be found on the website. Read more...
